“ We always come here to have dinner when we visit Big island! I loved the Thai sausage I got here, it reminds me of what I used to eat in Thai town in hollywood! Food is awesome here! Highly recommend! ”
“ Fantastic! Great food and atmosphere. Service was good and all requests were met. Will definitely be going again. We had Pad Thai, Penang Curry and Sweet Sticky Rice with Mango for dessert. ”
“ The food is the best Thai Food! The service is fabulous! Ambiance is amazing, right across from the beautiful sea! Sunset dinners are so pretty! ”
“ This place was great, staff were nice, the food was good and the wait wasn't too long. The food was piping hot when we got it. Pad Thai was a little sweet but good Papaya salad was missing something but was also good ”
“ We sat inside but near the door and could still see the ocean and beautiful sunset. The inside decor was decorated very nice. They have a full bar inside as well. We ordered a summer spring roll with peanut sauce, the Pad Thai, Beef Pas Se Ew and a Green curry with chicken. We also had the mango sticky rice for dessert. All the food was pretty good, the beef in the Pad Se Ew was a little over cooked but the noodles and sauce were good. The servers were very nice. One girl was in training but she did her best and we really didn't have any complaints. The mango sticky rice was very good. It was my first time trying it and I am definitely a fan ”
“ Best Thai food I've ever had and I've been to Thailand! Ok, so we were in Hawaii for five days maybe and had two of our meals here! Our meals were hot and tasty and nice portions and when I brought my own farmers market mango in January they agreed to make me mango sticky rice and it is the best I've had in my entire life!!!! These people rock!! ”
“ 5/12/2024 Thai Rin Restaurant 75-5799 Ali'i Dr Ste C1 alii sunset plaza Kailua-Kona, HI 96740 Wifey and I went there for lunch on Mother's Day. Although busy, we had no problem promptly getting a table on the patio with an ocean view, the place has interior and patio seating. Service by the native Thai staff was very good throughout our experience there. We ordered the Pad Kee Mao and Panang Curry both with beef and the hot spice level. My Curry was excellent with a slight garlic along with the curry flavor, the beef in both dishes was a little chewy. The vegetables were fresh and crisp, excepting the bamboo shoot (probably canned). The noodles were okay, but I don't like some Thai noodles like Pad Thai overall. Overall a good experience with service, ambiance and flavor. Out of curiosity, I asked our server if she could bring us some sauce at the Thai Hot level, this was definitely hotter than our dishes and left a lingering sting in my mouth. Definitely repeatable and maybe Thai Hot the next time. ”
“ Nestled on the volcanic canvas of Hawaii's Big Island, Kona is a place where every sunset is a symphony and the sea whispers secrets of the deep Pacific. Among these waves, the island's pulse beats strongest, a rhythm explored through its culinary offerings. As I meander through Kona, guided by a thirst for authentic encounters, Thai Rin emerges as a heralded locale, championed fervently by locals who breathe this air daily. Positioned unassumingly several blocks from the King Kamehameha Hotel in the Alii Sunset Plaza, Thai Rin is not just a restaurant; it's a portal to Thailand itself, crafted by the enduring hands of its owners, Paul and Ahn. Here, the menu, a seasoned veteran of 30 years, boasts accolades and authenticity, each dish a testament to the flavors they aim to preserve and share. As a devotee of Thai cuisine, I approached their offerings with a critical palate, only to find my skepticism gently set aside by the first bite. The papaya salad was a vibrant dance of tangy and spicy, while the fried local yellowtail collar whispered secrets of the ocean much like Kona itself. The shrimp spring rolls were crisp vessels of flavor, perfectly executed. Paul and Ahn, ever the consummate hosts, extend their hospitality beyond the culinary. They offer a treasure map to the island's soul, a printout of local haunts that promise adventures as rich as the flavors on their menu. This gesture, simple yet profound, captures the essence of Kona--not just a place to visit, but a place to understand and cherish. And the view? Ah, the view. Thai Rin sits like a serene sentinel overlooking the ocean, offering diners not just a meal, but an experience. To sip a Mai Thai, its hues rivaling the sunset, while facing the water is to engage in a moment of unparalleled perfection. Yes, it's crowded. Yes, you'll wait. But the best things in life are those worth waiting for, aren't they? Thai Rin is no exception. It's a slice of Thailand served on a platter of Hawaiian beauty, a meal to remember long after the last waves of your trip fade into the horizon. True Aloha at its best! ”
“ So surprisingly good. We walked by and got hooked just staring at people's food. There were six of us and we ordered everything family style. From veggie fresh rolls to pad Thai to chicken and fried rice, etc. everything was wonderful!! Service was great as well and suggested some good beer. Only thing I wouldn't recommend is the pina colada but the food well makes up for it. ”
